The Struggle is Real

I had a blast this spring break. One of my best friends got married, and I was humbly invited to be not only one of the groomsmen, but bestman. I had many duties to complete, in helping the family prepare for the wedding, coordinating the rehearsal dinner, and writing a speech for over 100 people to hear. I was nervous when the wedding came around, as all my preparation was coming to a head, especially the speech. Would people enjoy it? Would it be effective in reaching the goal is was set out to meet?

And so is the same with this group project. I am nervous about it all, especially considering the great amount of preparation we are putting into it. In a similar way to the wedding, people are relying on me here. My group members are great, and I am hoping I will be able to contribute evenly and effectively. I feel as though this semester is a bit more difficult than last. I was able to contribute fairly and felt competent in my group projects across all of my classes.

This time around, I am not feeling the same way. Though I am certainly attempting to contribute evenly, it seems as though my lack of skills and knowledge in this area is beginning to hinder me, a bit. I know that we did not have to possess any video game designing abilities, but I still feel the pressure to have some special skill to contribute.

We are working toward an interesting project idea. I am hopeful we will have something that will also be interesting to work on, as well as be fairly engaging for any learners that participate in it. It was hard coming up with something cohesive and as a group seeing as spring break kind of broke up our communication a bit. Myself and another team member were busy and had plans during this time, so we had to get stuff done before and then have something ready to propose soon after.

Overall, this project is proving a bit more difficult than I anticipated, but not to worry. This too, shall pass (pun intended, as I hope to receiving a PASSing grade).
